Process
In the ideation stage, we found that the semiconductor industry is… not very exciting. No offense if you’re a semiconductor enthusiast.
We wanted to go big with this commercial and to play it up in a way that imbued a sense of wonder and adventure into an otherwise ordinary search process.
Pitch
Finding the right semiconductor isn’t easy. But what if it was even harder? What if it was as difficult as it felt, and you had to search far and wide (literally) for the parts you needed?
We enter an Indiana-Jones-esque world where our protagonist looks for a key artifact in an important quest. An accompanying voiceover talks about all of the incredible things in this world that we don’t have access to — and may never find. Our protagonist appears lost and afraid.
The key changes as our protagonist wakes from a reverie and finds that he is not lost, but rather being delivered a package from Mouser. And it couldn’t be simpler!
We chose to film office scenes in NYC and jungle scenes in Argentina for cost-efficiency, dense jungle locations, and existing contacts with crews in both places.
Results
After the success of the first video, Mouser chose to create more in the series to boost client engagement. The ad is credited with a 15-20% increase in conversions.
